Safely Remove Acrylic Nails at Home
Introduction
Acrylic nails are a popular choice for those who want long, strong and beautiful nails. However, removing these nails can be a challenging task. If you want to reduce any potential damage to your skin and free up your fingers faster, there is a safe way to remove acrylic nails in the comfort of your own home.
Step 1: Remove Length
The first step is to remove most of the length. Use a nail clipper to cut the nails down to a shorter length.
Step 2: Buff the Surface
Take a fine-grit file or buffer and gently buff the surface of the nails to remove the top layer of acrylic.
Step 3: Soak in Acetone
In a small bowl, mix acetone and water in a 1:1 ratio. Soak your nails in the solution for 10-15 minutes, or until the acrylic starts to soften.
Step 4: Gently Remove Acrylic
Use an orange stick or metal pusher to gently scrape away the softened acrylic. Be patient and work slowly to avoid damaging your natural nails.
Step 5: File and Buff
Once the acrylic has been removed, file and buff your nails to smooth out any rough edges. Apply a cuticle oil or moisturizer to nourish your nails.
